As show cause notices were shot off to the Congress leaders in Rajasthan following a rebellious move by MLAs supporting CM Ashok Gehlot, they are figuring out how to respond to them even as they reaffirm their support for the party’s high command while taking a mellowed stance.

Urban Development and Housing minister Shanti Dhariwal, PHED minister Mahesh Joshi and Chairman of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation Dharmendra Rathore have been issued show cause notices by AICC for not attending the Congress Legislative Committee (CLC) meeting last Sunday.

Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) chairman Dharmendra Rathore posted on Twitter, “Last time, we saved the government from the traitors who had tried to topple the Congress government by conspiring against the Gandhi family and the Congress party with the BJP. Even now, the same traitors want to capture power by hatching a conspiracy. We are the true soldiers of Congress President Sonia Gandhi ji and Rahul Gandhi ji. We have full faith in them.”

Ironically, Rathore is not even an MLA nor was he present at the meeting on September 25. It is said he provided buses to take the MLAs from Shanti Dhriwal’s house to Assembly Speaker CP Joshi house.

Minister Mahesh Joshi has said that he is yet to receive the notice but he will give a reply. “We respect Sonia Gandhi and are loyal to the Congress party. Whatever will be the decision of the Congress party, we will respect it and in the end, justice shall prevail,” said Joshi.

A meeting at the Chief Minister’s house has been ongoing at Jaipur. CP Joshi, MLA Pratap Singh Khachaiyawas, Mahesh Joshi, and other ministers met with Gehlot on Wednesday. Gehlot will leave for New Delhi to meet the national leaders of Congress.

While talking to the media, Kahchariyawas said, “We are meeting with the Chief Minister and there is nothing to worry about. We are a Congress family, strongly holding the Rajasthan fort against the hatred of the BJP. The decision made by the majority of the MLAs who stood up against the traitors of the party should be taken seriously. Gehlot ji will go to Delhi and put forward our interests in front of the party high command.”
