Arvind Kejriwal, national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi Chief minister, said on Sunday that his party’s roots are honesty, free education, healthcare, and welfare. He also said that it will help his party win the Gujarat elections.

Kejriwal was addressing thousands of his supporters and party workers who came from 20 states to attend AAP’s Janpratinidhi Sammelan at Indira Gandhi Indore Stadium in the national capital.

“Today AAP has a robust countrywide organisation with 1,446 elected representatives across 20 states and UTs. I call upon all AAP volunteers to join our Make India No. 1 mission and make citizens all over India join us by giving a missed call on 9510001000,” said Kejriwal.

“We grew up learning about Lord Shri Krishna, who killed evil at a nascent age. Today, the 10-year-old Aam Aadmi Party is killing the evils of unemployment, corruption, and inflation,” he said.

Launching a scathing attack on the BJP and other parties, he said no development work has happened in 75 years. “These parties didn’t do anything good for the last 70-75 years. Today the common man of the country is accepting AAP with open arms because of our work,” said Kejriwal.

Kejriwal further said the BJP is trying very hard to crush the rise of his party, which is why his leaders are being arrested. “After Satyendar Jain and Amanatullah Khan, these people will put more of our MLAs in jail; I ask everyone to make arrangements to stay away in jail for a few months, after that, they can’t do anything to us.

“169 bogus cases have been filed against our MLAs in Delhi. They were acquitted in 135. Not a single MLA has been punished to date,” he added.

Speaking about the media in the country, Kejriwal said the BJP is threatening the media to work according to their plans. “These people threaten even the media, forcing them not to publish anything about AAP in Gujarat. Stop threatening the media, the nation won’t progress like this,” he said.

He also said that Prime minister Narendra Modi was not fighting corruption but fighting against AAP. “From Lal Quila, that man (Modi) claims to be fighting corruption, when in reality he is fighting not against corruption but against the AAP. Operation Lotus failed in Delhi and Punjab, now they’ve started Operation Lotus 2.0 to threaten our MLAs,” he said.

He added that to date they’ve not been able to break away a single AAP MLA, they won’t be able to in the future either; every single MLA of the AAP commands the courage of a freedom fighter.

This was the first such event of the party where AAP tried to give the message of its expansion at the national level. The event was addressed by Delhi Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia, Delhi minister Gopal Rai, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, MLA Durgesh Pathak as well as Punjab Minister Harpal Cheema, Aman Arora and Goa MLA Venzy Viegas. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann addressed the event digitally.
