Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called upon the countrymen to move forward with ‘panchpran’ or five pledges to fulfill the dreams of our freedom fighters in the next 25 years.
In his ninth address from the ramparts of the Red Fort, the prime minister said that India must be a developed country by 2047.
The first pledge Indians should take is to move forward with bigger resolutions in order to develop the country. In the second pledge, he said, people should remove any trace of colonial mindset.
When our states grow, India grows.. This is the time for cooperative-competitive federalism.
May we all learn from each other and grow together.

“Third: be proud of our legacy; fourth: strength of unity, and fifth: focus on a sense of duty among the citizens,” said PM Modi, listing out all the pledges.
During his 82-minute address, the prime minister touched upon several crucial subjects, like women empowerment, dynastic politics, ‘Make in India’, India’s technological advancements, and self-reliance.
“I urge youth to dedicate the next 25 years of their lives for the nation’s development; we should work towards the development of the entire humanity,” he said.
Calling Indians “aspirational”, the PM said that people want positive changes at a quick pace. “India is an aspirational society and such a society is an asset.”

“India is a ray of hope for the world. The way the world is seeing India is changing. There is hope from India and the reason is the skills of 130 crore Indians,” he added.
The prime minister said that the country should celebrate its diversity and democracy. “The diversity of India is our strength. Being the Mother of Democracy gives India the inherent power to scale newer heights,” he stated.
Emphasising “dignity of Nari Shakti”, he said, “It is important that in speech and conduct, we do nothing that lowers the dignity of women.”
Delivering an extempore speech, PM Modi exhorted the countrymen to help him in his fight against nepotism and corruption.
