PATNA: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday questioned the Bihar government’s decision to seek vacancies for Urdu teachers while ignoring the vacancies for Sanskrit teachers in the state.
The day Nitish Kumar took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the eighth time, the director of the primary education department asked for the vacancies of Urdu teachers across the state.
The BJP termed the decision as appeasement politics of the Mahagathbandhan, alleging that they ignored the vacancies of Sanskrit teachers in the state.
Commenting on the decision, Union Minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh said, “Nitish Kumar government did not take any decision on Sanskrit teachers in the state but on Urdu, a decision came. Appeasement started within 24 hours.” He also attached the letter from the Director of Primary Education.
In a letter issued to all the education officers of the districts of Bihar, Ravi Prakash, Director of Primary Education in the state, said, “How many posts of general teachers are sanctioned in Bihar and on how many posts are teachers working? How many posts are vacant? How many posts have been appointed? Regarding the participation (in number and percentage) of the minority community in the total teachers appointed.”
In another question to all district education officers, Prakash asked, “How many posts of Urdu and Bangla teachers are sanctioned in your district? How many posts are filled? How many posts are vacant?”
Nitish Kumar took the oath as CM on Wednesday. He also held the first meeting of his cabinet on the same day. During the meeting, RJD leader, Tejashwi Yadav spoke to Nitish Kumar about employment generation.
Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) moved out of the NDA alliance once again after a gap of five years. JD (U) snapped ties with the Grand Alliance in 2017 and joined the NDA. The Grand Alliance was formed in 2015, three years after Nitish Kumar had dumped the BJP in 2012.
The BJP is holding protests across the state, accusing the JD (U) of betraying the mandate of the people.
