NEW DELHI: A contingent of the Indian Air Force (IAF) left for Malaysia on Friday to participate in a bilateral exercise named Udarashakti. Interestingly, this will be the first bilateral exercise between the IAF and the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF).

The IAF contingent will have Sukhoi-30 MKI and C-17 aircraft, while the RMAF will be flying Sukhoi-30 MKM aircraft. The Indian contingent departed from one of its air bases directly to their destination, the RMAF base of Kuantan.

The exercise will help strengthening the bond between the two Air Forces. It will also give an opportunity to both the Air Forces to share and learn from each other. The exercise will also help in discussing mutual combat capabilities.

The four-day exercise will witness the conduct of various aerial combat drills between the two Air Forces. It will also enhance the avenues of defence cooperation between the two Air Forces, thereby augmenting security in the region.
