NEW DELHI: In good news for students of Vedic studies, Veda Bhushan and Veda Vibhushan courses offered by Ujjain-based Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan (MSRVVP) are now equivalent to Class 10 and Class 12, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, stated in a notification.

The decision also means that the certificates issued by MSRVVP can be used for higher education and jobs.

MSRVVP is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Education working for the preservation, conservation, and development of Vedic studies by establishing and supporting Ved Pathshalas (schools).

MSRVVP’s Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Veda Sanskrit Shiksha Board has recently been recognised as a regular education board equivalent to any other board within the country.

The Veda Bhushan and Veda Vibhushan certificates issued by the board are now equivalent to certificates issued by other central or state school boards of India for admission in higher education institutes and employment in central or state government organisations or bodies, the Ministry of Education said in a notification.

The August 8 notification also revealed that the Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Veda Sanskrit Shiksha Board is now recognised as a regular school board within India by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) from August 3.
