NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday said that it has arrested two highly radicalised people involved in propagating Jihad.
According to the NIA, they used to post hateful and incriminating materials online and communicate with their associates in India and Bangladesh via encrypted apps.
An NIA spokesperson here said that the agency arrested Hamidullah aka Raju Gaji and Mohammad Sahadat Hussain aka Abidullah, both residents of Bangladesh, from the Eint Khedi police station area in Bhopal.
They were arrested in the case relating to the arrest of six active cadres of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), including three illegal Bangladeshi immigrants from Aishbagh, Bhopal.
The official said the accused were found involved in propagating JMB ideology and motivating the youth to carry out jihad against India.
“They were close associates of earlier arrested accused persons in the instant case and were found using encrypted apps to communicate with their associates in India and Bangladesh,” the official added.
The case was initially registered by Bhopal STF on March 14 this year, and the NIA re-registered a case on April 5 this year. Earlier, seven accused persons were arrested in the case.
