NEW DELHI: After Young Indian Ltd (YIL)’s office was sealed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday, Congress accused the government on Thursday of wanting to establish a “control state”.

On Thursday, ED removed the seal from the office of YIL in presence of senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, who is also the principal officer of YIL, and went inside to search the premises once again.

Speaking to the media earlier in the day, senior Congress leader Pawan Bansal said, “One office of the YIL located on the ground floor of Herald House has been sealed and not the office of National Herald located on the fourth floor.”

Bansal, who is also the Congress treasurer, said that the entire truth is not coming out.

“The office has been sealed temporarily and once our authorised representative will go to ED and speak to them and cooperate with them,” the former Railway Minister said.

Hitting out at the BJP, Bansal said, “Does BJP want to create a control state and it wants that no one should raise their voice.”

The Herald House is also the registered office of YIL. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are majority shareholders of YIL.

On Thursday, ED removed the seal from the office of YIL in presence of senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, who is also the principal officer of YIL, and went inside to search the premises once again.

The ED has questioned Congress interim chief Sonia Gandhi for three days for 13 hours and Rahul Gandhi for 54 hours for five days in connection with the alleged money laundering case involving National Herald.

The ED had searched the premises of the National Herald at over a dozen places including Herald House in Central Delhi’s Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg.
