JAIPUR: Ringing the warning bell against COVID and Monkeypox viruses, Rajasthan Health minister Parsadi Lal Meena on Wednesday directed the officials to be vigilant against the two.

Calling for an extensive sampling of seasonal diseases, Meena said that patients with fever, cough and cold should also be tested for Covid. For the prevention of seasonal diseases like malaria, chikungunya and dengue, anti larval activities should be ensured on a large scale.

The Health minister has given these instructions in a meeting organized to review the progress of the National Health Mission and the Chief Minister’s Free Nirogi Rajasthan Yojna at Swasthya Bhawan.

He said that Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA), Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) and other field staff should do door-to-door sampling and report correctly after taking blood samples.

The Health minister said that regular monitoring of high-risk groups should be done for patients coming to OPDs of the department of skin and rheumatic diseases, medicine and paediatrics in hospitals. “If any suspected case of monkeypox is found, then its immediate sapling should be done. Along with this, after doing contact tracing of the suspected patient for the last 21 days, ensure that everyone is isolated,” he said.

Meena also informed that the Monkeypox testing facility is available in SMS Hospital in Jaipur.

Meena said that Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana is a completely cashless scheme but complaints are being received that some hospitals ask about depositing an advance amount from patients before treatment. He instructed the Chief Executive Officer Aruna Rajoria that there is a provision to provide treatment to the general public completely free of cost in the scheme, if any hospital takes an advanced amount, then strict action should be taken against it.
