J&K: SVEEP Outreach Programme For ELCs In Budgam

SRINAGAR: The District Administration Budgam in collaboration with Chief Education Office, Budgam today held a daylong workshop for the functioning of Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELC), under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), at Sheikh-ul-Alam Hall, here.

On the occasion, resource persons highlighted the importance of the electoral process and the participation of every eligible citizen in strengthening the Democracy in the country.

Awareness of enrolment of young voters who qualified for the age of voting, educating the participants about the electoral process and about the importance of their right to exercise franchise under the democratic process was also held on the occasion.

They also sensitized the participants including School Nodal Officers from Higher Secondary Schools and High Schools on creating massive awareness about drug de-addiction and environmental degradation issues in all schools under these programmes.
