NIA Arrests 4th Accused In CPI-Maoist Revival Case

NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested another accused allegedly involved in revival of CPI-Maoist in the Son-Ganga Bindh region.

A NIA spokesperson said that the anti-terror probe agency has arrested Rajesh Gupta, a resident of Bihar’s Rohtas district, in connection with its case related to conspiracy by CPI-Maoist cadres involving Central Committee Member, Vijay Kumar Arya and others for attempting to revive the proscribed organization in the Son-Ganga Bindh region of Bihar and UP.

This is the fourth arrest in the case besides Arya.

The official said that Gupta is a close associate of Arya, a Central Committee Member (CCM) and was actively involved in reviving the activities of CPI-Maoist in Son-Ganga Bindh region.

The Bihar Police had earlier registered a case on April 12 this year. NIA re-registered the case on April 26.

Earlier three accused persons were arrested in this case on April 12 and May 25.
