Udaipur Horror Case: NIA Arrests One Who Passed Information To Killer Attari

NEW DELHI: Moving ahead in its probe into the murder of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal Teli, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday said that it arrested Mohammad Javed.

An NIA spokesperson said that the agency arrested Javed, 19, on Thursday.

The official said that Javed had played an important role in the conspiracy of killing Teli by conducting a recce and passing on the information about the presence of the victim at his shop to the main killer accused Attari, prior to the gruesome attack.

This is the eighth arrest in the case of the murder of Teli, who was killed on June 28 at his shop in Maldas street by two Muslim men for sharing a post on suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.

Teli was killed by Attari and Ghous Mohammad. The duo recorded the entire act on camera and later also recorded their confession by brandishing the weapon used in the crime. They also threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Rajasthan Police had arrested the two accused from the Rajsamand area on the same day.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) transferred the probe to the NIA which registered a case on June 29.

Earlier seven accused persons were arrested in this case on June 29, July 1, 4 and 9.
