NEW DELHI: Ahead of Congress interim chief Sonia Gandhi’s appearance before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in an alleged money laundering case involving National Herald, the party has asked all its CWC members, general secretaries and in-charges for a meeting on Thursday morning.

Sonia Gandhi has been asked to appear before the financial probe agency at its headquarters on Thursday at 11 am.

According to senior Congress leaders, the meeting will be held at party headquarters at 10.30 am.

Sonia Gandhi was earlier summoned to appear before it on June 8. However, she tested positive for COVID on June 2 and was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on June 10. She was discharged from the hospital on June 18.

Sonia Gandhi was once again asked to appear before the agency on June 23. However, she wrote to ED asking for another date as doctors advised her to rest.

Congress sources also said that the party will also carry out Satyagrah March in her support.

Earlier the ED had questioned Rahul Gandhi, her son and former party chief, for over 54 hours in five days between June 13 and June 23 in the money laundering case involving the National Herald newspaper.
