NEW DELHI: A local court will pronounce its order on the bail application of Joint Drug Controller of CDSCO, S Eshwara Reddy, and three others in the Rs 4 lakh graft case on Monday.

Special CBI court judge Nirja Bhatia will pronounce the order on the bail plea of Reddy, Biocon Biologics Associate President L Praveen Kumar, Bioinnovation Director Guljit Sethi, and drug inspector Animesh Kumar at 4 pm.

The order on bail of the fifth accused, Dinesh Dua, who was caught red-handed giving the bribe to Reddy will be pronounced on Tuesday.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the case, in an application before the vacation bench on June 21, has sought to record voice samples of all five accused. The court will also pronounce its order to the agency’s application on Monday.

It heard arguments from both sides on Friday.

In its argument, the CBI told the court that it had intercepted communications and mobile calls between the accused, which now needs to be confirmed through voice sampling.

Biocon Biologics, headed by Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, was caught in controversy last month after CBI officers caught Dua giving bribery to Reddy on behalf of the drug manufacturer to waive phase-three clinical trial of Insulin Aspart injection. The company, however, has dismissed the allegations.
