NEW DELHI: Newly elected Rajya Sabha member Kartikeya Sharma on Wednesday met Union home minister Amit Shah and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Jagat Prakash Nadda for the first time after winning the election.

Sharma called on Shah and Nadda in Delhi on Wednesday evening.

After meeting the two leaders separately, Sharma thanked BJP for supporting him in the Rajya Sabha polls. He also said that he is fortunate to represent his state in the Rajya Sabha and also asserted that he will raise the issues of the state.

BJP-JJP (Jannayak Janata Party) backed independent candidate Sharma in the recently concluded Rajya Sabha polls. He defeated Congress candidate Ajay Maken by a very narrow margin.
