Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Durgesh Pathak for the Rajinder Nagar by-election

NEW DELHI: It was the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s show of strength Monday as Durgesh Pathak filed his nominations for the Rajinder Nagar by-election.

A large number of supporters gathered around Narayana Vihar Gurudwara as Pathak started the roadshow ahead of filing the nomination papers.

And the ruling AAP is not leaving anything to chance as their formidable ministers Gopal Rai and Atishi Marlena too joined the roadshow to drum up support for Pathak.

“People are happy with the work of (Delhi CM) Arvind Kejriwal. You can see by the support that the party is receiving,” Pathak told The New Indian.

Atishi was confident that AAP will score a resounding win. “This is a one-sided election for Durgesh Pathak. BJP is afraid of AAP. AAP is not only making inroads in Delhi but also in Haryana, Gujarat, HP, Kerala and Karnataka,” said the AAP MLA.

Former MLA from Rajinder Nagar Vijender Garg said, “AAP had always worked for people. AAP will continue serving the people.”
