CHENNAI: The eldest daughter of musical maestro AR Rahman, Khatija Rahman, walked down the aisle with her fiance, audio engineer Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed, on Thursday.
Rahman took to Instagram to break the news. “May the Almighty bless the couple. Thanking you in advance for your good wishes and love,” he wrote.
In the family photo, the bride and the groom are wearing ivory-white attires. The picture features Rahman, his wife, Saira Banu, and their kids, Ameen and Rahima, posing with the couple.
The music director’s mother Kareema’s picture can also be spotted beside the newly-wed couple.
Khatija is a musician who has lent her voice to a few songs in Tamil movies. Apart from being an audio engineer, Riyasdeen is also a budding entrepreneur. He and Khatija got engaged last year on December 29.
She also took to Instagram to announce her wedding with her fiance. “The most awaited day in my life. Married to my man @riyasdeenriyan,” she wrote.
In his distinguished career, Rahman has won six National Awards and two Grammy Awards. He also bagged two Oscars for ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ in 2009. He was also honoured with the Padma Shri in 2000 and Padma Bhushan in 2010.
