UP Police Attaches Properties Worth Rs 25.4 Cr Of Conman Ajeet Gupta, Aides For Cheating

LUCKNOW: Acting tough against gangsters, the Uttar Pradesh Police on Wednesday said that it had attached property worth Rs 25.4 crore of Ajeet Gupta and his aides. Gupta had duped number of people in the state on pretext of giving them high returns on their investments in his company Ani bullion.

As per the police officials, an attachment order for property worth more than Rs 25. 4 crore Under section 14(1) of Gangster Act has been issued against Gupta.

A senior UP Police official said that gang leader Gupta, who has duped hundreds of people on pretext of giving them very high returns through investments in his company Ani bullion, was booked under Gangster Act along with his associates Kanhaiyalal, Akash Upadhyay, Anjani Kaushal and Krishna Upadhyay.

The official said that properties worth Rs 25.4 crore of five people were attached.

He said that the properties worth Rs 21.26 crore of Gupta including a house in Ayodhya’s Kumarganj worth Rs 90 lakh, two flats in Chinhat worth Rs 1.1 crore, a house in Lucknow’s upscale Gomti Nagar worth Rs 1.2 crore, land in Lucknow’s Sarojini Nagar worth Rs 25 lakh, a house in Lucknow’s Sarai Mali Khan worth Rs 1.5 crore, three flats in Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar worth Rs 1.95 crore, another house in Lucknow Sarai Mali Khan worth Rs 2 crore, a commercial building in Chowk Lucknow area worth Rs 6 crore, a flat in Chak Malhauri in Lucknow worth Rs 2.05 crore, a house in Virat Khand Gomti Nagar worth Rs 4.05 crore were attached.

Four accounts in different banks with Rs 11.22 lakh and a vehicle bus worth Rs 15 lakh were also attached, he said, adding that properties of his four aides were also attached.

Police attached properties of Gupta’s aide Krishna Dhar Upadhyay worth Rs 2.31 crore, which included five agriculture plots in Ayodhya’s Kumar Ganj, two motorcycles and a bank account.

Properties of Gupta’s aide Anjani Kaushal attached by the UP Police are worth Rs 75.11 lakh and include a house in Ayodhya’s Kumar Ganj and bank account. It has also attached properties Kanhaiyalal worth Rs 95.9 lakh.

The police also attached property of Guptas aide Akash Upadhyay worth Rs 14 lakh that included a car.

In the last few years, the UP Police has attached the properties of several dreaded gangsters in the state. It has taken stern action against the gangsters in the state after Yogi Adityanath was sworn in as the Chief Minister in 2017.
