6-Month-Old Boy Succumbs To Covid In Sirmaur, Himachal’s Lone Fatality In 24 Hours

SHIMLA: A six-month-old child is Himachal Pradesh’s lone Covid fatality in the last 24 hours even as the state added 1,773 new cases. The count of active cases rose to 8,115 from 6,937 a day before.

The baby boy succumbed to the virus in Sirmaur district, pushing the total deaths in the state due to the virus to 3,871, said a health official. The total number of cases in the state so far has touched 2,38,355. With 534 fresh recoveries, the total number of those recovered stands at 2,26,334.

Among the fresh infections, the maximum 354 were reported from Kangra, followed by 262 in Solan, 250 Hamirpur, 225 Una, 191 Sirmaur, 171 Mandi, 123 Shimla, 65 each in Bilaspur and Kullu, 47 Chamba, 13 Kinnaur and seven cases in Lahaul and Spiti.
