States In India Revise Covid-19 Guidelines As Wave Progresses

NEW DELHI: As the third wave of the pandemic progresses, various states have revised the guidelines to minimise health damage to the public and stall its spread.

The Maharashtra government issued their revised Covid-19 guidelines on Sunday for the state, allowing gyms and salons to open with 50% capacity and only fully vaccinated people will be allowed to use these services.

The Maharashtra government issued orders for the movement of people in groups of 5 or more has been restricted from 5 AM to 11 PM and no movement has been allowed from 11 PM to 5 AM, except for essential services.

Government also issued that all government and private offices will be run by 50 % of their capacity and only fully vaccinated people are allowed to attend the office physically. Only 50 people are currently being allowed in marriage, any religious or any political ceremonies and 20 people are allowed in funeral sites. Schools and Coaching Institutes will be shut till February 15th.

Management also issued notices for shopping malls, complexes and Restaurants and will be allowed to open at the capacity of 50%. Restaurants will be allowed to open from 8AM to 10PM and only fully vaccinated people will be allowed to enter. Hence, home delivery will be available for the whole weekdays and the same will be allowed for theaters too.

For domestic travellers, RT PCR test report will be mandatory up to 72 hours of the arrival time. Meanwhile, amid the surge in Covid-19 cases, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar today said that weekend lockdowns will not be imposed in the city for now but strict restrictions, SOPs can be brought in if people don’t follow Covid-appropriate behavior.

While in Omicron cases are increasing in India and reached 3,623 with Maharashtra 1,009 counting to top the count so most of the states are issuing Night Curfew amid raising the coronavirus.

Delhi, with 15.34% and more than 17,000 cases in Covid is also restricted by night Curfew from 10PM on Friday till 5AM Monday.

Haryana Government also ordered the closure of malls, theaters, multiplexes and all kinds of entertainment parks. They also restricted office work with 50% capacity while the rest worked from homes.

Uttar Pradesh has polls upcoming and therefore has not announce any weekend curfew but night time restrictions have been extended by two hours. It will now be in place from 10PM to 6AM instead of the 11PM to 5AM earlier.

Tripura also announced a fresh set of restrictions for Covid-19. A night curfew has been imposed from 9 PM to 5 AM from January 10 to January 20 and no public meeting in open spaces will be allowed.

Himachal Pradesh government also issued guidelines for Covid and all kinds of social and religious gathering will be banned from 10 to 24 January and 50% office staff will be at work from home. State has recorded 2,31,587 cases including 3,864 deaths. Government of Himachal Pradesh imposed night curfew till further notice and shut educational institutes till January 26.

Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin announced a complete lockdown on all Sundays after recording 5,098 cases in the state.
