SRINAGAR: In an interaction with the media under the theme Engaging Perspectives, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah voiced his firm stance on restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood. Referring to the Supreme Court’s directive, he emphasized that the Centre is obligated to act promptly, stating, “A year has passed since the judgement. Statehood must be restored without delay.”

Addressing governance challenges, CM Omar highlighted the drawbacks of dual power structures in the Union Territory. He asserted, “Effective governance demands a single centre of authority. Dual command hampers progress and the well-being of our people.”
