NEW DELHI: Political leaders from across India and different political ideologies paid tribute to the late former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, visiting his residence in New Delhi.

Political activist and leader of Swaraj India, Yogendra Yadav, reflecting on his personal encounters with the late leader, shared poignant memories that highlighted the simplicity, humility, and unwavering integrity of the former PM. “I met him three times: before he became the Prime Minister, during his tenure as Prime Minister, and after his tenure as Prime Minister. There was no change in his behaviour— the same simplicity, the same humility, the same honesty, very few words,” Yadav said in his tribute.

Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away on the night of December 26. His mortal remains was kept at his residence for a day and moved to AICC headquarter the next day for the party leaders and common people to pay tribute. His rites is expected to happen at around 11:45 AM today at Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi.

Despite often opposing the leader’s policies and government in public, Yadav emphasized that the former Prime Minister remained unaffected by such criticism. “In the meantime, I opposed him in public— his policies, his government. He didn’t care. There are very few such people in our political life,” Yadav remarked, adding that such resilience was a rare quality in today’s political landscape.
