Rohan Dua of The New Indian Interviews this sales professional in Georgia

Georgia, USA: Georgia is once again a focal point in the national race for the upcoming US elections, with the state’s history of flipping in previous elections adding to the suspense.

With just two days to go, Georgia voters are preparing to choose between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Rohan Dua of The New Indian interviewed residents to capture their perspectives, including Tom, a sales professional who has made his choice clear: he’ll be voting for Kamala Harris.

In the interview, Tom expressed his hopes for a Harris victory, stating, “I already voted early, but I’m hoping she wins.” However, he acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding her chances in Georgia, saying, “I don’t know that she will win in Georgia. But I’m hoping a lot of people turn out and vote for what they believe in.”

When asked about the heated rhetoric between Trump and Biden-Harris supporters, including the frequent barbs exchanged online, Tom revealed he steers clear of political discourse on social media.

“I try not to watch a lot of that stuff. I don’t follow what’s going on there on Instagram,” he shared, indicating a preference to stay focused on the issues rather than the distractions of campaign controversies.

One of the issues driving Tom’s support for Harris is her stance on marijuana legalization, a policy Harris has championed for its potential economic and social benefits.

When asked whether he thought Trump or Harris was better equipped to handle the economy, Tom didn’t hesitate to share his view. “I don’t think Trump is better equipped to handle anything,” he remarked, reinforcing his belief that Harris brings a more suitable approach to governance and economic matters.

In Georgia, where recent elections have swung both ways, voter turnout and enthusiasm will be critical. The state’s mix of urban and rural populations has historically shown split allegiances, making it an unpredictable yet crucial battleground.
