J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the attack, describing it as “profoundly troubling.” “In recent days, the valley has seen an unsettling rise in attacks and encounters. Today’s assault on innocent shoppers at the Sunday market is especially distressing. There is absolutely no justification for targeting civilians,” Abdullah stated. He urged security forces to take swift action to curb the surge in violence so residents can live without fear.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir VK Birdi visited the injured civilians at SMHS Hospital in Srinagar. The IGP wished the victims a speedy recovery and assured that action would be taken against the perpetrators of this crime.
