Crude bomb blast in Rohini, linked to a Khalistani threat shared on Telegram
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police are investigating the involvement of pro-Khalistan groups in the bomb blast that occurred outside the CRPF School in Rohini on Sunday. The police launched the probe after discovering that a Telegram channel linked to Khalistani elements had shared CCTV footage of the blast.
Authorities are looking into claims made by the group and have reached out to Telegram for more information regarding the channel that posted the footage. A message accompanying the video allegedly contained a warning directed at India, raising concerns about the possible resurgence of Khalistani activities.
Amit Goel, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Rohini, stated, “It’s difficult to say anything at this stage… investigation is underway.” The explosion, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, sent shockwaves through the area. A loud bang was heard near the CRPF School in Rohini’s Sector 14, prompting an immediate response from the police, bomb squad, and fire department.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the explosive device used in the attack was a crude bomb. Forensic experts have recovered traces of potassium chlorate, hydrogen peroxide, and electrical wires from the site, all of which are commonly associated with improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The police are treating the incident as a serious security threat, particularly due to the possible involvement of pro-Khalistan elements.
Sources within the police department confirmed that two Telegram channels—“Justice League India” (JLI) and “The KC Feed”—are being scrutinised for their potential connection to the blast. JLI reportedly shared the CCTV footage before being suspended, while “The KC Feed” reshared the post, amplifying its reach among sympathisers. In their post, “The KC Feed” referenced the original message by JLI, which celebrated the attack as part of a broader Khalistani agenda.
The message posted on “The KC Feed” suggested that the blast may have been intended to demonstrate the group’s capability to carry out attacks on Indian soil. It stated, “If the Indian cowardly agency and their masters think they can hire filthy goons to target our members to silence our voice, then they live in a fool’s world. They can’t imagine how close we are to them and how capable we are of striking at any time. #Khalistan Zindabad.”

Delhi Police officials believe that this message, along with the circulation of the CCTV footage, indicates that the blast was meant to send a warning to Indian authorities. While no official group has taken responsibility for the incident, investigators are not ruling out the possibility of a larger network of pro-Khalistan operatives behind the attack.
Given the sensitive nature of the case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is expected to take over the investigation from the Delhi Police. The authorities have assured the public that they are on high alert and that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure safety in the city.
