NEW DELHI: As the counting concluded, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini declared the winner by the Election Commission of India. Saini received 70,177 votes, winning by a margin of 16,054 votes, while Congress candidate Mewa Singh secured 54,123 votes.

As the counting progressed in Haryana, early trends initially showed Congress in the lead. However, within hours, the BJP reversed the situation and took control. The ruling BJP has now exceeded the majority threshold in the Haryana Assembly, leading in 50 seats, while Congress is ahead in 35, according to the latest updates from the Election Commission’s website.

Ahead of the vote count, Saini visited the Saini Samaj Dharamshala in Kurukshetra, where he expressed confidence in forming the government for the third time. “We are certain that we will once again establish the government in Haryana. We have worked sincerely for the state’s development, beyond regional divides, and people are recognizing that. Congress’s false politics no longer has a place here. It’s in their DNA to blame EVMs whenever things don’t go their way,” Saini stated.

The battle for the Ladwa seat had garnered significant attention as it was seen as a critical constituency in this election. With Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini contesting from here, the race had become even more high-stakes.

Ladwa is a key political constituency in Haryana, where Chief Minister Nayab Saini competed against sitting Congress MLA Mewa Singh. Other candidates in the race included Joga Singh Umri from the AAP, Vikram Singh Saini representing the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Vinod Kumar Sharma from the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), and Sapna Barshami of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD).
