AAP Leaders celebrated the Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case
NEW DELHI: AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Atishi on friday celebrated the Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy corruption case. The two leaders were closely following the court proceedings on a laptop screen and erupted in joy as soon as the ruling was announced, their faces lighting up with smiles.
Marking the emotional moment, Sisodia and Atishi embraced each other in celebration. The Aam Aadmi Party shared a video of the jubilant moment on social media, captioning it, “The Moment when CM Arvind Kejriwal Got Bail from Supreme Court – AAP Family.”

Manish Sisodia, who had also recently secured bail in excise policy cases involving the ED and CBI, expressed his happiness on X, stating, “Today, truth won again in the fight against lies and conspiracies. I once again pay my tribute to the thinking and foresight of Baba Saheb Ambedkar ji, who 75 years ago had strengthened the common man against any future dictator.”
Delhi Minister Atishi echoed similar sentiments, writing on X, “Satyamev Jayate. Truth can be troubled, not defeated,” reinforcing the party’s belief in the triumph of truth.
The court’s bench, comprising Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan, allowed Kejriwal bail on a bond of ₹10 lakh, along with two sureties. The court also directed Kejriwal to refrain from making any public comments on the merits of the case.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was initially arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in connection with a money laundering case related to the alleged liquor policy scam. He was subsequently arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on June 26 while still in ED custody.
On July 12, the Supreme Court granted him interim bail in the ED case. Despite this, Kejriwal remained in Tihar Jail due to his ongoing detention by the CBI.
