NEW DELHI: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan at the White House on Friday to discuss critical issues related to the evolving geopolitical landscape and regional security.

The discussions, held against the backdrop of increasing global uncertainties, also focused on enhancing defence industrial collaboration between India and the United States.

During the meeting, Rajnath Singh and Sullivan explored key regional security challenges, reflecting on the current geopolitical dynamics that impact both nations.

 

 

The two leaders underscored the importance of continued collaboration in defence sectors to bolster mutual security and address emerging threats.

In addition to his meeting with Sullivan, Rajnath Singh also engaged with senior leaders from the US defence industry at a round-table event organized by the US India Strategic Partnership Forum in Washington DC.

The event witnessed the participation of numerous prominent US defence and technology companies, highlighting the growing interest in Indo-US defence partnerships.

Addressing the gathering, Singh emphasised India’s readiness to welcome US investment and technology collaboration, citing the country’s skilled workforce, pro-FDI policies, and a robust business ecosystem.

He reiterated India’s commitment to working closely with the US in the defence sector, aiming to build capabilities and foster a lasting technology and industrial partnership to tackle emerging challenges.

“India is poised to become a key player in global defence manufacturing and innovation. We look forward to deepening our ties with US companies, leveraging our strengths to create a resilient and future-ready defence ecosystem,” Singh said.

The minister also held a brief meeting with a delegation from the US India Business Council, further cementing the economic and strategic partnership between the two nations.
