CHANDIGARH: After Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is all set to roll out free sops for the people of Punjab. Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal launched the women empowerment campaign and kick started AAP’s third guarantee registration from Sarai Khas, village of Kartarpur assembly constituency on Tuesday.

All the women have to do to register is to give a missed call to a designated number and they would be paid Rs 1,000 per month after the formation of AAP government in the state, Kejriwal announced.

Earlier upon reaching Kartarpur, Arvind Kejriwal paid obeisance at Gurdwara sahib.

Addressing the women at an event organised by AAP at village Sarai Khas, Kejriwal said, “Women of our country, including Punjab, are very hard working. This Rs 1000 per month is for their empowerment and to make them financially stronger.”

Responding to the questions on the funds for this guarantee, Kejriwal retorted “Sand worth Rs 20,000 crore is being stolen in Punjab. Such mafias are active in Punjab’s CM constituency itself.”

Addressing the gathering, AAP Punjab president and MP Bhagwant Mann said the times have changed and female voters of Punjab will now decide their own vote, keeping high inflation and unemployment of their children in their minds.

With the AAP trying to expand its footprint in Punjab and Goa, Kejriwal has already promised round the clock power and up to 300 units of free electricity for each household in Punjab if voted to power in the state
