NEW DELHI: In response to the Rajinder Nagar incident, the Kejriwal government plans to introduce the ‘Institute Regulation Act’ to tackle the growing issue of unregulated coaching centres in Delhi. Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh called for national legislation, urging the Modi government to enforce strict regulations on coaching centres, hostels, and exam-related companies to ensure student safety and fairness. The AAP MP emphasized the necessity of a unified legal framework, highlighting the consensus among INDIA Alliance parties for stringent oversight.

Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, along with AAP Delhi State Convenor and Cabinet Minister Gopal Rai, held a press conference at the party headquarters and informed about the initiative taken by the Kejriwal government to regulate coaching centres. Sanjay Singh said, “I had written a letter to Prime Minister Modi that laws should be made to stop the looting of coaching centres in this country. The central government should make such a law which is applicable in all the states. It should be ensured that a fixed procedure is followed for opening a coaching centre, running a hostel and taking fees. A quota of free education should be fixed for children of the BPL and EWS categories.

The AAP MP continued, “The central government should make rules and laws in this direction. Especially, there should be a provision for strict bans and action against those coaching centres and paper conducting companies whose name comes up in leaking the paper. Today, there is no state in the country including Gujarat, Bihar, UP, Haryana, or Rajasthan, where students are not victims of paper leaks. Therefore, it is necessary to have strict laws against it in the country.”

He further added that the AAP will take the initiative in this direction. When the Rajinder Nagar incident was being discussed in the House (Parliament), many parties of the INDIA Alliance demanded that coaching centres be reined in. The Rajya Sabha Chairperson was also concerned about this issue and that the arbitrariness of these coaching centres should be stopped. There will be talks with the parties of the INDIA Alliance in this regard and it will also be discussed with the central government.

“We will continuously put pressure on the fact that coaching centres should be regulated. Also, the Delhi government has taken the initiative in this direction. The Delhi government is going to bring a law to regulate these coaching centres and bring them under the purview of the law. Under this, these coaching centres will have to follow the rules and the process. A committee has been formed for this, and the Delhi government is starting it from today. It is good news for the students and their families who dream of their bright future in Delhi that the Delhi government has moved forward in this direction,”

Sanjay Singh said that he got information that the Lieutenant Governor (LG) had called a meeting at his house on Tuesday. BJP says that the AAP is guilty. But the public should also know what kind of conspiracy their LG is hatching while sitting in Delhi. The LG is holding a meeting with Delhi officials and coaching centre owners at his house.

The question arises as to why is he holding a meeting with coaching centre owners in a closed room. He is holding a meeting in a closed room with the owners of coaching centres against whom he has to take strict action, but the minister of the Delhi government was not even informed about it. To ensure that the news of this meeting does not leak out, the ministers of the Delhi government were not even informed about it. Without the minister of the Delhi government, LG is holding a secret meeting in a closed room with those owners of coaching centres who are guilty of running illegal libraries and classes in the basement, and those coaching centres which charge exorbitant fees from the children.”
