New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, Sanjay Singh, stated on Saturday that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has lost around 8.5 kilograms while being in jail. Singh emphasized that such significant weight loss could be indicative of a serious illness.
“In jail, Kejriwal’s sugar level dropped below 50 five times,” Singh reported.
This is not the first instance where AAP has raised concerns about Kejriwal’s health. Previously, the party had alleged that Kejriwal was not being provided with insulin, leading to increased sugar levels. AAP leaders even staged a massive protest outside Tihar Jail, accusing the central government of withholding insulin from Kejriwal.
In April, Sanjay Singh wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing the PMO and the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, of monitoring the Delhi CM round-the-clock through CCTV surveillance. Singh argued that the treatment of an elected chief minister in this manner was undignified and contrary to democratic principles.
Despite these allegations, the Tihar Administration has not officially commented on the matter. Meanwhile, the BJP has dismissed these claims, suggesting that Kejriwal is attempting to secure bail on medical grounds.
