CHANDIGARH: In what could well prove to be a test of loyalty for its own cadres, the Punjab co-incharge of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Raghav Chadha on Sunday levelled allegations against BJP top leadership of tying to wean away their leaders in Punjab.

Chadha alleged that senior BJP leaders including Home Minister Amit Shah and his office bearers are making calls to Punjab AAP leaders and offering them cash and incentives to join BJP.

Addressing a press conference Chadha said, “It seems that BJP is facing shortage of faces who can contest elections in Punjab and thus, they are trying to lure and buy out our leaders.”

“We have names of more than 25 sitting leaders of Congress party who ready to deflect. We can provide the same list to BJP and they can try and lure them to join their party,” said Chadha while challenging the BJP to break into their bastion.

He also raised questions on where the party was getting money to purchase leaders from?

AAP Punjab chief and MP from Sangrur Bhagwant Mann, who was also present at the press conference alleged that four days ago, a very senior BJP leader had called him and asked him if he would like to join the BJP?

He alleged that the leader made a direct offer asking him to choose between money and designation. The party was even willing to appoint him as cabinet minister, offering him a ministry of his choice, he added.

Bhagwant Mann said, “People of Punjab have faith in its leaders. BJP does not have enough money or positions to buy me. In fact, the BJP is trying to buy the trust of the people of Punjab, but I will continue to fight for Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat.”
