SRINAGAR: Two terrorists were killed after an intense gunfight erupted between terrorists and security forces in the Gandoh area of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists are believed to be responsible for recent attacks on the army and police in the region.
A senior police official informed The New Indian that the police received intelligence about the presence of three terrorists when they initiated a search operation this morning. According to sources, the operation started after terrorists fired at security forces searching the area, prompting the forces to return fire.

The encounter is ongoing, with sources indicating that senior police officers have arrived at the site. In the past week, efforts to eliminate terrorists have intensified in the Doda, Rajouri, and Poonch regions following a series of attacks.
On June 11, an army camp was attacked, resulting in injuries to five soldiers and a special police officer. In another incident, terrorists attacked a police camp, injuring one policeman.

These attacks prompted a significant security overhaul, with security forces launching coordinated operations to apprehend terrorists and their local supporters. Police sources report that three locals, accused of providing food and shelter to the terrorists, have been arrested.
