NEW DELHI: Amidst swirling social media speculation, actor Prakash Raj has unequivocally dismissed rumours of joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The 59-year-old, renowned for his candid criticism of the Narendra Modi government, took to X (formerly Twitter) to sarcastically address the rumours that had sent waves across digital platforms.
In response to a viral post by user ‘The Skin Doctor’ claiming his imminent BJP affiliation, Raj’s retort was sharp and sardonic: “I guess they tried. must have realised they were not rich enough (ideologically) to buy me.. what do you think friends #justasking”. This clarification followed heightened anticipation spurred by the viral post, which suggested a political shift for the award-winning actor.
