2 BKI backed members terror module held in Punjab

NEW DELHI: The Punjab Police have arrested two alleged terrorists associated with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) who intended to carry out terrorist attacks in Punjab to destabilise the state. Both terrorists were operating within the module of Harpreet Singh alias Happy Pasian, who is based in America, along with Harvinder Singh alias Rinda in Pakistan and Shamsher Singh alias Shera in Armenia.

“The module was operated by USA based Harpreet Singh alias Happy Passian, a close aide of Pakistan based terrorist Harwinder Singh alias Rinda, along with his associate identified as Shamsher Singh alias Shera presently based in #Armenia,” Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav posted on X.

According to information, this was an intelligence-based operation.

“With the arrest of these two alleged BKI supporters, we have averted possible target killings in Punjab.

Happy Passian was working in connivance with Rinda and Shamsher to radicalise the youth by motivating them to carry out anti-national activities in the state.

“We have Recovered two pistols along with four magazines and thirty live cartridges from their possession. An FIR has been lodged in this connection under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act) & Arms Act at State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar,” the official added.

Further investigation in the matter are ongoing.
