NEW DELHI: In a response to the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) raids conducted on February 6, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) lashed out, condemning any potential misconduct by Delhi Jal Board (DJB) officials or their contractors if proven true.

The party also questioned why investigations into alleged scams involving BJP-aligned figures like Chagan Bhujbal, Narayan Rane, Ajit Pawar, and Suvendu Adhikari have seemingly been stalled.

The party also rejected what it termed as ‘blatantly false allegations’ by the ED suggesting any involvement of AAP or its leaders in the case.

According to the party, during the raids, AAP leaders were targeted by the ED, yet the party maintained that no incriminating evidence or funds were discovered.

“It’s clear that the Modi government is a big believer in Hitler’s ideology, ‘If you repeat a lie a thousand times, people will start believing in it,'” remarked the party in a statement.

Drawing attention to a pattern of alleged harassment, AAP pointed out that over the past decade, the Modi government, along with agencies like the ED and CBI, has initiated more than 230 cases against AAP leaders. However, none of these cases, the party asserts, has resulted in convictions, suggesting a deliberate attempt to discredit CM Arvind Kejriwal and his party.

Accusing the ED of being a mouthpiece for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), AAP vowed to pursue legal recourse against what it views as defamation.

“If the ED was genuinely committed to combating corruption and money laundering, why is it turning a blind eye to scandals within the Modi government such as the Ayushmam Bharat scam or the Bharatmala project scam?” the AAP questioned, highlighting what they perceive as a double standard in the investigative approach.
