PT Usha delighted to attend consecration ceremony in Ayodhya

NEW DELHI: People from all spheres of life attended the consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir held in Ayodhya including saints, sportspersons, actors, industrialists and several others on January 22. Among them was India’s star track and field athlete and Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President PT Usha.

PT Usha expressed joy and happiness to be invited and made part of such a holy event. While speaking to The New Indian’s Executive Editor Rohan Dua, who was officially invited as a guest to the event, she said, “I am very happy to be present here today at the consecration ceremony of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.”

Usha came to seek the blessings of Lord Ram with her family, including her husband V. Srinivasan, an inspector at the Central Industrial Security Force, who is also a former national kabaddi player. He told TNI, “Being an Indian, everybody must be proud that such a grand temple has been built for Lord Ram in Ayodhya and such a grandeur consecration ceremony is being held for the temple.”

Dua also spoke to RSS’ joint head of media and publicity Sunil Ambekar, who beamed with joy for getting to witness such a historic day. While speaking to TNI, he said, “There is a lot of pride. We are very happy and the nation is rejoicing in joy.”

TNI also spoke to Indian lyricist and screenwriter Prasoon Joshi. The lyricist, filled with pride and devotion, said “Dekh rahe hum Ram ko aate, janam safal ho raha humara (We are witnessing Lord Ram coming, the purpose of being born on this planet is getting fulfilled).

“Ram is eternal. We can only surrender ourselves to Him. And keep in mind, if you do then your welfare will be taken care of by Lord Ram himself. It is our fortune that we are here to witness this auspicious day.”
