Wiggan, known for his expertise in crafting tiny wonders, utilised an eyelash to delicately decorate the Nativity’s kings and camels. The artist, working tirelessly for 16 hours a day over four weeks, employed nylon for the camels and crowned them with 24-carat gold.
His motivation behind this intricate creation was to, in his own words, bring “light to the world” during these troubled times. Wiggan expressed a desire to offer moments of happiness, pleasure, and fun through his art.
The micro-sculptor revealed a fascinating insight into his creative process, describing it as akin to “trying to put a pin through a bubble without bursting the bubble.” He disclosed that he worked between heartbeats, holding his breath to minimise disturbances that could potentially ruin his delicate work.

Wiggan’s artistic journey is marked by resilience and determination, particularly considering he has autism. Despite being told at school that he would “amount to nothing,” he has defied expectations.
Awarded an MBE for services to art in 2007, Wigan began his microscopic sculpting endeavours at the young age of five, creating miniature houses for ants.
