NEW DELHI: Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh shared a heartfelt birthday message for his father, Yograj Singh, on March 25. The former cricketer turned 67.

 

Yograj, who played for India, featured in one Test and six ODIs, taking a total of five international wickets.

Yuvraj Singh’s Emotional Tribute

 

Marking the occasion, Yuvraj posted a family photo on Instagram stories. The picture featured his wife Hazel Keech and their two children, Orion and Aura.

 

The 43-year-old wrote:

 

“Happy birthday to the one and only #DragonSingh. Lots of love, Dad. Hope your day is as action-packed as you are.”

Yuvraj Singh’s Cricketing Legacy

 

Yuvraj retired from international cricket on June 10, 2019. He remains one of India’s finest all-rounders.

 

In 304 ODIs, he amassed 8,701 runs, smashing 14 centuries and 52 fifties. He also picked 111 wickets, including a memorable five-wicket haul in the 2011 World Cup.

 

In 58 T20Is, Yuvraj scored 1,177 runs, hitting 8 fifties, and took 28 wickets. His Test career included 40 matches, where he scored 1,900 runs with three centuries and 11 fifties.

Yograj’s Bold Statement on Arjun Tendulkar

 

Yograj Singh made headlines recently with his comments on Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.

 

The 67-year-old believes he can transform Arjun into the world’s greatest batter in just six months.

 

“If Arjun comes to me now, I will make him the world’s greatest batter. No one knows his true batting potential,” Yograj said.

 

He revealed that both Sachin and Yuvraj had asked him to mentor Arjun. The youngster trained under him for 10-12 days and even scored a century in the Ranji Trophy.

 

“I thought, why are they wasting him as a bowler? He is a brilliant batter. As a batting all-rounder, he will excel,” Yograj added.

Arjun Tendulkar’s Cricket Career

 

Arjun, 25, has played 17 first-class matches, scoring 532 runs at an average of 23.13. With the ball, he has taken 37 wickets.

 

The left-arm pacer is currently part of the Mumbai Indians (MI) squad for IPL 2025.

 

Yuvraj Singh continues to shine in the cricketing world, while Yograj remains an outspoken mentor in the sport.
