New Delhi: In a recent development, YouTuber Manish Kashyap has voiced criticism against Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav for not attending the last rites of Martyr Chandan Kumar, who valiantly fought terrorists in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kashyap, recently granted bail by the Patna High Court in connection with a case involving fake videos related to violence against Bihar migrants in Tamil Nadu, directed his criticism at Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav.

Chandan Kumar, aged 26, made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, and his mortal remains were brought to his ancestral village, Naromurar in Navada district, on December 25. The last rites were performed with full state honours, drawing a large gathering to pay homage to the martyr.
However, notable by their absence were Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. Kashyap, who visited the martyr’s family, expressed disappointment in his statement, pointing out that on the day of the last rites, some individuals prioritised personal celebrations over honouring the sacrifices made by martyrs. He emphasised the need for leaders to understand the pain of the public and invoked historical figures like Chandragupta Maurya and Chanakya.
“When the son of the king is made a king, how will he understand the pain of the public? Among us, someone will have to become Chandragupta Maurya. Someone among us will have to become Chanakya. Only then will someone grab the king’s hand and bring Chandragupta Maurya to the throne; only then will the situation of Bihar change. Only then will the honour of martyrs, the poor, the farmers, the youth, and the unemployed be served,” stated Manish Kashyap.

He emphasised that if the government does not respect the martyrs, it is imperative to send a strong message. Governments that neglect the sacrifices of the country’s martyrs will not earn the respect of the people, and voters will express their discontent in elections.
Chandan Kumar, a native of Bihar, lost his life in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Having joined the army in 2017, Chandra served as a rifleman in the 86th Infantry Battalion, stationed in Jammu for about two and a half years. His childhood dream was to serve the country, and he achieved martyrdom while defending it.
