NEW DELHI: A day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) sealed the office of Young India (YI) in Herald House here, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that he won’t be intimidated by the pressure tactics of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and will keep on fighting to save democracy and country.
Speaking to the media on Herald House being sealed by the ED temporarily, Rahul Gandhi said, “You are talking about National Herald, this is a complete attempt of intimidation. They think that by putting a bit of pressure they can silence us.”
The Congress leader hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah saying, “What Modi and Amit Shah are doing in the country against democracy we will stand against that.”
To another question over, a BJP spokesperson accusing the Congress of running away, the former Congress chief said, “Who is talking to run away? We won’t be intimidated, we don’t fear Modi. Let them do what they want, it won’t affect us. My duty is to save the country and democracy and to maintain harmony. I will keep on doing that. Whatever they do.”
On Wednesday, the ED sealed the office of YIL in connection with an alleged money laundering case involving National Herald.
The ED had earlier questioned Rahul Gandhi for over 54 hours in five days last month. The ED also questioned his mother and party interim chief Sonia Gandhi for over 13 hours in three days in July in connection with the case.
