Donald Trump Jr has said that his former US president father is unlikely to rejoin Twitter even as his account has been reinstated by the social media company under billionaire CEO Elon Musk’s leadership.
In an interview with moneycontrol, he said that his father Donald Trump is focusing on expanding his own social media platform named ‘Truth Social’.
“I don’t know if he will (return). He has created his own platform. He is building Truth Social – a rapidly growing social media platform,” Trump Jr said.
He continued: “They (Twitter) said they were not censoring you but now he all knows that they did. They would say, ‘well, if you don’t like it, build your own’. So he has actually done that. When he did that, they (Twitter) said, ‘oh, come back’. This is now how it works.”
Trump’s account was reinstated by Musk after a poll on November 20, overturning a ban that had kept him off the social media platform for more than 22 months since his supporters attack the US Capitol building on January 6, 2021, as the Congress prepared to certify President Joe Biden’s election victory.

Though his account is back on Twitter with all old tweets and followers, Trump has not posted any tweets so far. He has called Twitter’s decision to ban him a “morally bad decision” and “foolish in the extreme”.
Speaking about the Twitter Files, Trump Jr said that the revelations have validated the points made by the former US president.
“When they go after me, they prove my point that I was right all along. That means that all the things my father and I have been saying for the last few years were correct. We were called conspiracy theorists. But six months later, we were right,” he said.
Speaking about the relations between Prime Minister Modi and Trump, who has announced to run for the presidency in 2024, Trump Jr said, “I don’t know. But I imagine they are very good friends. When he was in office, he liked him a lot individually.”
Trump Jr said that India can supply a lot of items to the US that China currently supplies. “I think India can satisfy a lot of our needs that we have completely outsourced to China, like medicines and chips. A lot of countries have relied on China, which has proven to be a very bad actor around the world.”
