Why Chinese spy balloons could be a security threat

Get over UFO sightings. US is grappling with a new security hazard. Chinese spy balloons are hovering over the sky in American continent. These balloons have resulted in the cancellation of  Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to Beijing.This was supposed to be the first high level US-China meeting there in years. One Chinese balloon is flying at an altitude of about 60,000 feet as of Friday. The US is not shooting it down. It has significant number of payloads. Beijing has accepted that the balloon belongs to China. It claimed that the airship was being mainly used for meteorological research. The Chinese foreign ministry said the airship “deviated far from its planned course” because of Westerlies. Meanwhile, the Pentagon reported a 2nd Chinese spy balloon sighting over Latin America.
