NEW DELHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has elected its new leadership for the term 2025-26 during its 26th Council meeting on February 12.

 

CA Charanjot Singh Nanda is the new president, while CA Prasanna Kumar D has been elected as the vice president.

 

 

The leadership baton has been passed from CA Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal to CA Charanjot Singh Nanda as president, and from CA Charanjot Singh Nanda to CA Prasanna Kumar D as vice-president.

 

CA Charanjot Singh Nanda, the 73rd president of ICAI, is a Fellow Member with 34 years of experience as a practicing Chartered Accountant since 1991.

 

He completed his Bachelor of Commerce from MLN College in 1987, consistently securing a spot on the merit list at Kurukshetra University.

 

He ranked 35th in the CA Inter Examination and became a Chartered Accountant in 1991.

 

Nanda has held several leadership positions in ICAI, including Chairman of the Northern India Regional Council (NIRC) in 2002-2003.

 

 

He was elected to the Central Council of ICAI in 2004 and has served six terms. In 2024-25, he served as Vice President before becoming President in his seventh term.

 

The oath of office was administered by Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State (I/C) for Law and Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

 

CA Prasanna Kumar D, the new vice-president, holds a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Zoology from Loyola College, Chennai, and an MA in Sociology from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati.

 

He became a Chartered Accountant in 1984 and is a Fellow Member of ICAI with over three decades of experience.

 

He has been elected to the Central Council of ICAI for three consecutive terms โ€“ the 24th, 25th, and 26th Councils.
