NEW DELHI: The Western Ghats Lit Fest, organized by The Verandah Club, returns for its third edition on October 19th and 20th, 2024. Following the success of its previous editions, this year’s festival promises an immersive experience, featuring a diverse lineup of speakers and a global perspective. The event has been carefully curated by Smt. Shefali Vaidya, Director of The Verandah Club.
Launched in 2022 in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, the inaugural edition featured 16 speakers and established a vibrant literary platform. The 2023 edition expanded significantly, showcasing 24 speakers over two days and attracting more than 1,000 attendees in Coimbatore. This edition also witnessed the launch of 13 new books. Additionally, The Verandah Club introduced LitTales—a unique Children’s Lit Fest in partnership with Prakriya International School—alongside other events like the Kongu Tamil Sangamam and Spotlite, a fireside chat series.
This year’s festival will host over 27 speakers from across India and abroad, including prominent authors, thinkers, and cultural figures. Attendees can look forward to panel discussions, keynote addresses, book launches, and cultural performances that span a wide range of topics. Notably, this special edition will include dedicated sessions on Defense, Indian Knowledge Systems, Yoga, and Sanskrit.

Western Ghats Lit Fest 2024 aims to be a landmark event, featuring international speakers and the launch of over 10 new books, providing a platform for both established and emerging authors. The festival will also benefit from the support of over 10 media partners, including Dina Malar, The Organiser, and Swarajya, ensuring extensive coverage of this exciting literary gathering.
The organizing team, led by Chairman Prof. P. Kanagasabapathi, Director Smt. Shefali Vaidya, Chief Mentor Shri Sundar Ramachandran, Mentor and Advisor Shri Ramachandra Prasad, and Founder Shri Jagannathan, has meticulously planned the event to deliver a captivating and intellectually stimulating experience. Western Ghats Lit Fest 2024 is set to foster dialogue and promote Bharatiya cultural ethos, making it an unmissable event for literature enthusiasts.
