Why Everything Everywhere All At Once was celebrated at Oscars 2023

"Everything Everywhere All At Once" has made history by becoming the most celebrated science fiction film ever at the Oscars.

It beat out previous nominees like "Star Wars" and "Gravity".

The movie, which involves dimension-hopping through a multiverse, received a total of eleven nominations at the 95th Annual Academy Awards and won seven of them, including Best Picture, making it the first science fiction film to achieve this honor.

Science fiction films have historically struggled to be recognized at the Oscars, with only a handful of nominees and winners over the years. Even highly regarded films like "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "Blade Runner" were never nominated for Best Picture.

"Everything Everywhere All At Once" has broken through these barriers and provided Academy voters with compelling and imaginative material to appreciate.
