Despite Pauly's recent films underperforming, the movie was well-received by audiences, particularly in Kerala and among Pauly's fans, for its portrayal of labourers fighting against the 'Chappa' system and 'work guarantee' scheme in Kochi during the 1940s.
The real-life inspired plot and period setting provide an intense emotional experience, bolstered by the ensemble cast's performances, which include Indrajith Sukumaran, Joju George, and others.
Rajeev Ravi and Gopan Chidambaram served as cinematographer and writer, respectively.
Krishna Kumar aka K and Shahabaz Aman created the film's music and score.
