Anne Hathway & Julie Andrews starring, The Princess Diaries, is reportedly getting a sequel.

TV writer Aadrita Mukerji, producer Debra Martin Chase are also part of the project.

This year is the 20th anniversary of The Princess Diaries franchise.

The first film was directed by the late Garry Marshall and based on the bestselling young adult fiction novels penned by Meg Cabot of the same name.

The rags to royalty story of Mia Thermopolis transformed many high school years for a whole generation.

Andrews said to the media, “There was talk of a sequel many, many years ago. But I don’t think it ever came to pass.”

Hathaway expressed interest in watching the series again.

She said, "If there's any way to get Julie Andrews involved, I think we would make it work.”
