Former Indian cricketer Irphan Pathan was attacked on Twitter for defending the Indian cricket team post India’s loss in the T20 semifinals with England on November 10.

He was retaliating to Pakistani fans who were abusive about India’s loss in the semifinals. The Pakistani cricket team, however, has entered the finals with England.

Pathan cleared any chance of misconception saying the tweet was not meant for the players. "And this is not for the player. NEVER".

Pathan wrote: "Padosiyon jeet ati jaati rehti hai, lekin GRACE apke bas ki baat nahi hai." Saying losing a game is human but to take it in strife does not come to everybody.

The sarcastic tweet gathered many eye-balls and former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar replied: “Aray kya ho gaya bro? Kisi nay kuch kaha hai toh mujhe bata. Main daantoon ga. Promise.”

The friendly banter was interjected by taunting twitter replies, like, “Bhai ye prove krna chah raha he k ye aik loyal Indian he aur take ise Indian media apne ps bulaye aur analysis le”
