Kamal Haasan's production company, Raaj Kamal Films International, along with R Mahendran, will produce Silambarasan TR's 48th film, which is tentatively titled STR48.
Director Desingh Periyasamy, who previously directed Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal (2020), will helm the project.
Silambarasan confirmed the project on Twitter and stated, "Dreams do come true."
The rest of the cast and crew have not been announced, but the promotional video revealed that filming will begin in 2024.
Silambarasan is currently waiting for the release of Pathu Thala, while Kamal Haasan has Indian 2 and a movie with Mani Ratnam in the works.
